The Merritt Island Airport (COI) offers aircraft charter services, banner towing, flight training, aircraft avionics, and aircraft maintenance and sales.
Merritt Island Airport is your gateway to freedom on Florida's Atlantic Coast. It is a beautiful non-controlled field, with a county-owned paved 3601 ft. lighted concrete runway. The airport's north apron recently underwent $1 million in renovations, and in addition to its 148 current T-hangars, another 67 are scheduled to be built beginning shortly.
This progressive facility offers pilots a wide range of aeronautical services, including complete aircraft maintenance, an avionics shop, FBO, flight school, and fuel. One of the EAA's most active chapters is located here.
Merritt Island Airport is perfect for pilots who want a place to take off, land, and spend the night. It has a long runway (4,000 ft.) that can accommodate just about any aircraft. The airport offers 24-hour self-serve fuel and significant repairs and maintenance services.

History
In the early 1940s, the Merritt Island Airport was constructed by the Brevard County Mosquito Control District. This general aviation airport serves the local flying needs of Merritt Island, Cocoa, and the remaining areas of Brevard County. Its simple runway extends into Newfound Harbor, which is a part of the Banana River. The two landing strips include a north strip ( 1,800 feet) and a south strip (3,000 feet in length).
An operations building and maintenance hangar was placed on the south side of the airfield and a maintenance hangar on the north side. Eventually, the north-south landing strip was removed.
Various facilities, including the T-hangars, currently inhabit the area. The Brevard County Mosquito Control District deeded the property to Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority in exchange for ten acres of land within Space Coast Regional Airport.
Brevard County currently uses this land as headquarters for the Mosquito Control District.

River Fly-In encompasses 13 acres of pristine natural surroundings. Great care has been taken to preserve the original wetlands environment so that our owners may enjoy the constant beauty of Florida's incredible flora and fauna. Escape to a place to live where your plane is moments, not miles away.
You can experience the exhilaration of a rocket launch from the comfort of your balcony, indulge in an afternoon of shopping or golf, or catch a cruise ship out of Port Canaveral. River Fly-In originally encompassed 13 acres of pristine natural surroundings. River Fly-In is now acquiring additional 15 acres adjacent water frontal parcel that lies between the original property and the Banana River. This will increase the foot print of River Fly-in property to 29 acres, trippling nature trails, and allow water access to the residents. There are existing trails that lead directly to the Banana River where one can fish or lauch canoe, or Kayak. Plan is to build boat dock to 4 feet depth of water, connecting to existing deep water channel in Sykes Creek (Part of Banana River). Up to 34 boat slips are planned.
An elevated boardwalk is being built from east side of the pool to existing south side grass road with multiple interconnecting nature trails.
